TFB Automates Mandalay Bay Staffing

April 6th, 2007– Manhattan Beach, CA
Technology for Business Corporation (TFB Corp.) announces completion of the Banquet Staff Scheduling solution for Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mandalay Bay sought an integrated IVR and desktop application to ease the manual workload of scheduling the large volume of staffers for their banquet facilities. Before the TFB solution, several hours of manual data entry was often required to staff a single event with servers. TFB and its technology partner, NEC Unified Solutions, proposed a solution that would allow staff to phone in and schedule themselves for upcoming events. A desktop GUI provides reports and scheduling options to the administrative staff, with integration to the same database used by the IVR module.

The result is a dramatically streamlined scheduling process. Servers can dial-in 24x7 to hear their currently booked shifts and even request confirmation by email, all without administrative intervention.

"Today we did a large call in.  We had 170 shifts to fill.  It took 50 minutes to fill all positions," noted Mr. Johns. "Typically, this would have taken over 5 hours.  A HUGE success."
 
Administrators can run reports to see staffing levels for all upcoming events, and track booking by individual servers.

The system runs on TFB's successful CTI Server™ 6 platform, behind Mandalay Bay's NEC 2400 ACD. The single server accomplishes the application goals with just 24 IVR ports, but provides Mandalay with the option to grow capacity, or add new applications as requirements change.
